Let’s take a step back in time to 1983.  Arcades were still large and in charge.  They were darker than a modern bowling alley during glow bowl time with more black lights.  Most importantly, games were still 25 cents a shot and didn’t end in less than a minute.  During this time, an early platformer came on the scene starring a law enforcing mouse cop named Mappy.

Mappy (the game not the character) is a game about a police officer mouse that is up against a band of Cat thieves called the Meowky Cat Gang.  Mappy is trying to recover all of the missing treasures in a multi-level house while trying to avoid Goro, the Meowky leader.  To make things worse, to get from floor to floor, you need to use trampolines that deteriorate the more you use them in consecutive bounces.
