It’s been a while since I had the time to post on GameBlips and you might have noticed the large time lapse from our last podcast recording. I will take the brunt of the blame for the lack of activity. The good news is I am back on the scene and have been playing a lot of games and adding to my collection. I also have a personal commitment to give you guys some gaming news at least once per week and feel free to hold me to my promise! I am also taking my twitter account to the next level (@gameblipskara) so add me there for updates/news.

So for my first post back on the scene I want to talk about a little game I have finally got around to playing. Diablo III. So I know this isn’t new by any means but it is new to consoles (PS3 and Xbox 360) and I don’t have a PC so I had to jump in a little late. I pre-ordered the game primarily so I could play online with Uberdalum and Technogaja but I have ended up playing a ton just on single player. I picked the Witch class.

The looting/drops are probably the most enticing aspect of the game. The story is good, but I will admit that I don’t always listen to what is going on and I skip some of the cut scenes to get to the battles! There are really four types of drops you can get in regards to armor/weapons. There is your gray standard items, blue items with some special attributes, yellow or rare items, and the orange legendary items.

You also have a stash at each home base where you can store the items you’re not currently using or even some special items that can only be used by other classes. I sometimes will do this so I can drop them for uberdalum (demon hunter) or nyracat (monk) when we play online.

The battle system is pretty interesting and fun to master. You can unlock different moves that use your power orb (for the Witch it is called Arcane Power) and some extra skills can reduce cooldowns on how long you have to wait before you can use that skill again. You can even change based on the enemy or situation. Sometimes you need to switch during boss battles.

Overall I recommend the game. It’s fun and has a lot of replay value with the different classes of characters you can play as. If anyone wants to jump online some night I am playing on PS3 – peachyks22
