Close to 1 AM, I finally had it with trying keep hitting the login button to see if I could shove my way in.  I attempted to contact a Sony rep, via chat, and this is how it all transpired…

Looks like Sony didn’t anticipate the amount of server load coming into PSN this Christmas.  I can’t even log into the service and get my account applied to my new console, let alone get my shiny new version of Destiny that came with it or the EA freebie that I fenagled during Playstation Experience! Guess I’ll play Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition while Sony gets this sorted. :/

A few weeks back, I ordered 3 new t-shirts to wear for the 3 streams we are running before Christmas.  For tonight’s Friday Night Fights I am wearing…

101991Get em’ while it’s still available for a great price!  Monoprice is running a gaming accessory sale on many items, but this one seems to be the best value out of the whole bunch.  $6.44 and free shipping adds up to be a great way to keep your game fresh and your controllers fresher!  Most battery packs go for $15-$20.  Monoprice’s in-home version normally runs for $8.58.  Sale ends tomorrow, 10/30/14, so buy quick!

My first contribution to the GameBlips site back in 2012 was an article on Minecraft for PC/Mac and here I am, almost two (2) years later, back to talk about Minecraft again. This time, however, I want to talk about the long-anticipated PS3 adaptation of the game. Released in just the past few weeks I have already racked up a hefty amount of hours into the game and I am very impressed with the PS3 version.

I have always played Minecraft Vanilla (with no modifications) and unlike a lot of folks, I do not own an Xbox 360 so I have never played a consolized version. So at first I did find the crafting mechanism in the PS3 version a little cheap… it takes away a lot of the experimentation of figuring out how the crafting table worked and how to create certain items. Now that I am used to it though, I don’t hate it and actually find it kind of convenient.

Another adjustment I had to make was the control scheme using the PS3 controller and even after probably 10+ hours of gameplay I am still adjusting to the controls, primarily the R1 and L1 switching between quick pick items.

Making these minor adjustments has proved fairly easy and the ability to play multiplayer without a server totally makes up for it! I am loving the ability to jump into my friend’s games and visa-versa. I have been racking some time in with Dalum, GFresh, and E-Rock over the holidays and look forward to playing with some other folks. Add me on psn: peachyks22

If any of you have been following the new limited edition 3DS XL releases you might have noticed the, now sold out everywhere, Pikachu edition. However, I am willing to bed a good share of you have not see the Animal Crossing edition coming out with the new 3DS game. Pictures below.

I am admittedly super excited for the new Animal Crossing: New Leaf to be released in the U.S. on June 9th (weird date right…?). I am not excited about the design of the 3DS XL limited edition console, however. I guess I see what they were trying to do but its very unattractive. In fact, I guess both of these new special editions are really targeted to hardcore fans. I mean really hardcore fans. I don’t know about you but I don’t think I will be using my 3ds on a airplane with a big pikachu face staring at everyone! 🙂

Anyone planning on picking either of these up? What other limited edition 3ds consoles would you like to see?

New local store, new haul

We got a new store in the local area called Five Below.  It’s a $5 store.  Jboy was gracious enough to let me know that they have these $5 fight sticks for the Wii on Friday, their opening day.  I had some business (business = buy cat litter and play Ingress…) to do over in that area on Saturday so I figured that I’d finally get some fight sticks to review.  (They are only $5…  What did I have to lose, right?)  That place had me sucked right in.  My intention to spend only $10 on some new Wii controllers turned into a $50+ trip!  With the addition of some sodas and candy, over half of it was gaming stuff.  I’ve been looking for a cheap copy of Metroid Other M and I got it for a non-used price!  They had 2 different kinds of fight sticks, so I grabbed them both.  They had Minecraft posters from (real ones not shown, they are getting framed) for $5 which go for $15 on their site!

Needless to say, this place isn’t full of cheap and knock off crap.  A little dated but really impressive.  Now I’ve got more to add to my review stash.  Guess I better get moving on all this stuff…

Don’t miss out on a really amazing sale happening on XBox Live, right now!  Headlining the sale is almost all of Assassin’s Creed. Much of it for $9.99!  There are 3 panels worth gaming goodness. Don’t want to log in? It’s OK… Here is the list, so far:

  • Panel 1
    • Assassin’s Creed 1 – $9.99
    • Assassin’s Creed 2 – $9.99
    • Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood – $9.99
    • Assassin’s Creed Revelations – $9.99
  • Panel 2
    • Call of Juarez – $4.99
    • Rayman Raving Rabbids – $2.99
    • Tom Clancy’s HAWX – $4.99
    • Tom Clancy’s GRAW – $4.99
    • Tom Clancy’s GRAW 2 – $4.99
    • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas – $4.99
    • Might and Magic: Elements – $2.99
  • Panel 3
    • Dirt2 – $4.99
    • Grid – $4.99
    • Virtua Fighter 5 – $4.99
    • BioShock – $4.99
    • Tomb Raider: Legend – $4.99
    • The Darkness – $4.99
    • Kane & Lynch: Dead Men – $4.99
    • El Shaddai: Ascension Of The Metatron  – $2.99

Personally, I’ve been looking for El Shaddai. Though I would rather have a physical copy, I can’t really turn down the game for $2.99!

Yesterday Sony unveiled their next generation console, The Playstation 4, during a press conference in New York. Sony streamed the conference so gamers from all over could find out about the much anticipated system. However, the timing was a little off for me. It was all happening while I was at work and when I finally got home and logged onto a stream it was just wrapping up.

After reading about it I have to say… I am really looking forward to some of the new features that will be coming out. I am most looking forward to the ability to share and broadcast your game or screenshots with friends and social networks. I love watching live streams of games on Twitch TV and having the ability to do this so easily (seemingly) through the PS4 is very exciting. I know not everyone is happy with Sony introducing the social aspects into the new gaming console but I think without it they would be left behind in the next generation.

ImageIt was also shared that Sony would be dumping the DualShock 3 controller for the new and improved DualShock 4 with a touchpad. They stayed pretty close to their standard design, which I find to be pretty comfortable.

There’s not much that I can add that is not already surfacing around the internet but I wanted to make sure everyone here knew I was keeping up with the news and I’ll admit I am ready to hand my money over this holiday season!
