Boo! That’s right… I am back from the dead just in time to plan our second annual GameBlips Halloween stream on Twitch. We have an exciting line up this year and I am going to attempt to top the spookiness of Captianerock’s stream of the PT demo.

We have still to confirm the date / time and who from the crew (besides me) will be streaming but we will post as soon as we have final details.

Some of the games in my lineup this year:

7 Days to Die

7 Days to Die

Join me as I try desperately to learn how to craft and survive in 7 Days to Die. Thus far I have made multiple attempts at game play (the game does not hold your hand) and have yet to survive through the night. Come help me out!

Don’t Starve

Don't Starve

I’ll take any excuse to play Don’t Starve. I have a pretty decent strategy down now and have survived a respectable amount of days. Let’s try to take this to the next level.

Minecraft – Homemade Halloween Maps!

Minecraft Halloween

This is what I am truly excited about. I have spent months hand crafting Hunger Games – esque battle maps in the Halloween Theme. Ask anyone… I am pretty damn good at these now. I have three different but exciting maps I am polishing off for this stream. Who will prevail… Alex (technogaja), Fred (chosanjuan / dalum), or Eric (captianerock)?

Until Dawn

Unit Dawn

Yes, I have played through this at least twice now but I am still working my way to that platinum trophy and the mood of Until Dawn fits the theme of this year’s Halloween Stream. Don’t shake that controller!

Let us know what other games you want to see in the comment section below. I will certainly take your input into consideration as we build the final lineup and schedule. See you there!

Welcome to my 2014 edition annual top 10 games.  Like the years in the past, this isn’t a list of games that were released in 2014, more like the games that took a large chunk of my attention for the year.

Close to 1 AM, I finally had it with trying keep hitting the login button to see if I could shove my way in.  I attempted to contact a Sony rep, via chat, and this is how it all transpired…

Looks like Sony didn’t anticipate the amount of server load coming into PSN this Christmas.  I can’t even log into the service and get my account applied to my new console, let alone get my shiny new version of Destiny that came with it or the EA freebie that I fenagled during Playstation Experience! Guess I’ll play Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition while Sony gets this sorted. :/

While thinking of my top 10 this year I realized I would simply be listing all the games I played. Since I was very busy with work and my first year in my house I didn’t play that many games but those that I played, I played a lot! That being said here are my top 5 games for 2014!

#1 Dragon Age Inquisition (PS4)

#2 Hearthstone (IOS)

#3 Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition (PS4)

#4 Minecraft (PS4)

#5 Don’t Starve (PS4)

8 o’clock!

The GameBlips Twitch Channel!!

As mentioned in the video, this is more proof of concept and not “THE way” of doing it.  It is, however, a good way to put a $20 Gamestick to use and get the controls of Console Edition Minecraft while playing on your PC! (more…)

I miss my early childhood when Saturday morning meant getting up to watch cartoons and eat cereal. Not just eat cereal but sit and read the cereal box while I ate. It always made me feel good to do the puzzles or just look at the colorful characters; The Trix Rabbit, The Flinstones, Count Chocula. Seeing the boxes first made anticipating breakfast fun and kept me happy until I finished eating.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always preferred the box. I loved going to the store and looking through all the games and then going home with a box. I loved the anticipation building from the store to my console and then experiencing that rewarding joy of seeing all the video magic that I got from that box. That is when the excitement lasted the longest for me; from box to “Thank you for playing Presented by…”.
